Granting Area Descriptions
The Gamma Mu Foundation provides financial
assistance grants in three areas:
|
 |
Community
Services
Community Services grants support services to
individuals that are provided through community services
organizations relating to health, educational, or other
welfare needs. Major emphasis is placed on HIV/AIDS related
services in rural settings. Community services grants
focus also on meeting special needs in subpopulations
such as youth, seniors, and victims of domestic
violence.
Research and Public Education
Research and Public Education grants support programs
and projects aimed at helping to make the world a more hospitable place for people regardless of
their sexual
orientation or gender identity. Grants may include
research, surveys, studies, conferences, programs, or
projects designed to inform and improve understanding
and behavior.
Scholarships
Scholarships provide direct financial aid to needy and
deserving students. One grantee may be selected each
year to receive the Robin McDonald Scholarship Award,
which is awarded to a gay man based on merit and need.
