AFFA’s Education and Awareness Campaign educates the
moveable middle heterosexual population to achieve
acceptance for LGBT people.
It offers information on the concerns of the LGBT
community to civic organizations and service
professionals open to learning more about sexual
orientation.
In addition to offering training, resources, and
education, the Campaign builds coalitions and advocates
for GLBT citizens in the workplace, legislature, and

Campus Pride
Charlotte, NC
Grant Amount - $5,000
This is the first ward to Campus Pride.
Funds will be used to support the Campus Pride
Summer Leadership Camp, the only one of its kind.
The Camp is a five-day event that educated,
enlightens and empowers youth on college campuses across
the United States.
It is a personal investment in GLBT and ally
youth, as the future leaders of our movement for
equality.
Specifically, funds will be used for youth scholarships,
overall program, educational material and activities.
Campus Pride has been selected to receive the
FY2010 Richard
Karpawich Research and Public Education Award.

Union County AIDS Task Force
Marysville, OH
Grant Amount - $2,400
This the first grant awarded to The Philadelphia Center
and the first time they have applied.
The Task Force is a small rural group and their
project, Take Control/Get Tested will off incentives to
at risk persons in
Union County and in two surrounding counties
where HIV testing is not available to come in and get
tested. This organization does not currently have
a web site.
