The Gamma Mu Foundation functions solely through volunteers. From major time commitments, such as president, board members, newsletter editor, and webmaster, to the nationwide network of volunteers, the work of the Foundation is carried out by members and friends who donate their time. Volunteers propose grants to deserving organizations, participate in on-site progress reviews, and plan fundraising events, such as black tie dinners and balls, auctions, and raffles.

Volunteer efforts are personally fulfilling and an excellent way to broaden friendships. Write-ups and pictures of Foundation committees and social activities are regularly carried in the Foundation Newsletter, helping to foster a sense of community and spirit of celebration among those who are giving of themselves to worthwhile efforts.
